    Description

Well loved Mohair Chad Valley Teddy bear from mid 1950's (approx 67 years old). Chad Valley had a royal warrant to the Queen mother shown on the blue on white label on foot. Needs repair in a few spots to bring it back to use.  Fully jointed arms, legs and head.  Retains all original eyes, nose, stitching for mouth, hand and foot pads, although repairs required, Chad Valley label on foot still in good condition but other seam labels have been worn from being overly loved.  A collectable antique bear.  Needs a loving home to bring him back to life to be loved all over again.
See photos for detail.  No returns due to condition.  Sold as seen. Thanks for looking.
    Background
The Chad Valley Co Ltd. By Appointment. Toy Makers to HM Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother.
When our present Queen came to the throne the wording had to change to "Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother." The label was still blue printing on white still with the coat-of-arms and still attached to the foot. Secondary labels were still also present. Bears in the late fifties sometimes had only the label stitched into a seam.  There was now a huge variety of sizes, colours, materials and types of bears. Arms had become shorter, eyes plastic and noses sometimes moulded plastic too. Quite often there was no pad or paw stitching. The Second World War with it's shortage of materials meant that faces and noses were also flatter to save on materials.
