Description
Welcome toAntiques & Moore!
This listing is for an unusual PZH Gouda Art Pottery cylinder shaped vase with flowing design in soft muted colors dating from the early 1912-1915 period. The Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH)
Company began business in 1897 in Gouda Holland and the vase bares their early trademark stamp with the initials "U P" for the artist/decorator.
Measures 8 3/4" high with a 3 1/4" diameter top and 3" diameter base. Weighs 1 pound.
This nice vase initially appears to be in excellent Estate condition, however, it has a couple of hidden flaws found under magnification. There is a tight hairline on the top collar that extends to the shoulder of the vase and a tiny pin-head flake in the glaze on the top rim. This beautiful example of early PZH Gouda pottery makes a gorgeous display item as neither flaws are initially apparent, however they are present and the price is reflected accordingly.
